Greenheart, known scientifically as Chlorocardium rodiei, originates from South America. The heartwood is a pale olive green with darker streaks, while the sapwood is yellowish green.
Greenheart is known for its exceptional durability and stiffness, making it suitable for demanding applications. However, it can be challenging to work with due to its density.
This timber is difficult to work with but offers excellent durability and strength. It is ideal for applications where stability is not critical due to its tendency to move in service.
Greenheart is very durable, making it suitable for bridges, boatbuilding, marine applications, decking, and flooring.
Available in potentially very large sections, custom-produced for specific projects.
The density of Greenheart is approximately 1010kg/m³.
