Product Details
Balau, originating from South East Asia, is classified as a very durable timber. It is yellowish-brown to reddish-brown with interlocked grain and a moderately fine, even texture.
Balau is known for its durability and attractive appearance. However, small holes called ‘pinholes’ are common and not considered defects. These are caused by the Pinhole Borer Beetle and do not affect the timber’s strength or durability.
This timber can be challenging to work with due to its density. However, it finishes well and can be used in various applications requiring a robust material.
Balau is very durable, making it an excellent choice for outdoor projects.
