Idigbo
A versatile and durable timber, perfect for both internal and external joinery
Product Details
Idigbo, known scientifically as Terminalia ivorensis, originates from West Africa. It is a plain pale yellow to light brown coloured wood, often with a zonal figure resembling plain oak.
Idigbo has little distinction between sapwood and heartwood. The grain is straight to slightly irregular, and the texture is somewhat coarse and uneven.
Idigbo works easily with most hand and machine tools, producing a clean finish in most operations. It turns well, has good nail and screw holding properties, and can be stained and polished effectively.
This timber is durable, making it suitable for both external and internal joinery.
