Pitch Pine, known scientifically as Pinus rigida, originates from North America. The heartwood is reddish-brown, and the sapwood is yellowish-white.

Pitch Pine has a straight grain with a medium texture. It works fairly well with most tools, though the resin can gum up tools and clog sandpaper.

Pitch Pine glues and finishes well, making it suitable for various woodworking projects.

This timber is moderately durable, suitable for interior and exterior applications.
