Scandinavian Redwood, known scientifically as Pinus sylvestris, is sourced from Sweden, Finland, and Russia. It is a popular choice for various construction and joinery applications.
The heartwood is pale yellowish-brown to reddish-brown, and the sapwood is creamy-white to yellow. Knots are common but vary in size and quality.
Scandinavian Redwood works easily with both hand and machine tools, producing a smooth finish. It can be glued, stained, varnished, and painted satisfactorily.
This timber is moderately durable, suitable for interior and exterior applications.
