Western Red Cedar (British), known for its beautiful appearance and durability, is a popular choice for cladding and joinery projects. It is lighter in colour but more consistent than its North American counterpart.
This timber has a straight grain and a fine, even texture. It will silver over time, giving it a unique and appealing look. Despite being knotty, it remains a favourite for many architectural applications.
Western Red Cedar works easily with both hand and machine tools. However, care is needed during some operations due to its relatively brittle nature, which can cause splintering.
This timber is durable, making it suitable for a range of external and internal applications.
